Family Sponsorship
Canadian citizens and permanent residents have loved ones living abroad that they wish they could bring to Canada.
Thousands of people immigrate to Canada each year with the hopes of building a better life for themselves and their families. Once you are established in Canada and are economically stable and capable of sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, dependent child, adopted children, parents, grandparents to become a permanent resident, the Government of Canada supports such applications as long as eligibility requirements are met. But, you should you should be ready to accept that many other families apply for the same status and not everyone can gain acceptance.
Canada’s Family Class Sponsorship programs are some of the most generous family reunification programs in today’s world. There are a number of relationships that qualify for Family Class Sponsorship, including spouses and common-law partners, parents and grandparents, dependent children, and potentially other relationships under certain Provincial Family Class Sponsorship programs. For parents and grandparents, there is also the Super Visa program.
